ELA This week in English Language Arts, students finalized their interview questions based on their chosen learning topic, and then visited different classrooms to conduct their interview of teachers and students. Meetings were videotaped, and students will now be using their gathered content to draft their news articles this week. Students were also introduced to the grammatical rules for adding quotes to the additional information portion of their article, so they are able to include the exact responses of the students and teachers they spoke to. Math In math this week, grade 5 students completed hands-on activities which included locating and drawing 2D shapes and 3D objects within the classroom. They then applied their learning of geometric vocabulary by identifying and labeling sides that were parallel, intersecting, perpendicular, vertical and horizontal.
